Project summary

Collaborative robots welding application

This project proposes the development of a set of tools based on collaborative robotics and artificial vision applied to arc welding. The objective is to bring flexible automation and collaborative robotics to arc welding operations in SMEs and low volume series companies, developing and using technologies that reduce entrance barriers and operative costs. Project results will also integrate other processes associated to the arc welding process, such as pre-positioning and quality control.

This project will define future roadmap and investment plan as well as create validation pilots to demonstrate technical feasibility. Apart from the technical aspects of the project, business cases will be carried out to demonstrate economic feasibility.
